An all too familiar story, now with a different ending.
The common hair salon. They offer a one-stop-shop, social media targeted approach which typically presents clients with one basic aesthetic option regardless of hair type, lifestyle or desires. As long as you are interested in what they deem to be in fashion, this may suit you just fine. Hope you like being upsold colouring services and pushed to purchase lots of products. Funny how at least half of them never seem to work on your hair, right? Oh, and you're definitely going to need another booking in 6 to 8 weeks time to keep that all maintained.
For those who don't align with this aesthetic and sales driven ideal, a salon visit can result in frustration and consistently underwhelming results. You know how it goes. Once home and washed your cut lacks any sort of supportive flattering shape. It's not awful, but will probably require more time, tools and energy than you want to give it. That's if they even listened to you in the first place and didn't do the exact opposite of what you specifically asked them not to. Either way, your cut then grows out poorly resulting in frequent visits for exactly the same thing: maybe looks great when you leave and then, rarely ever again. Rinse. Repeat.
Well, there was that one local hairdresser who wasn't too bad. They had some potential, perhaps you'll give them another go. You call, make a booking but on arrival, they aren't there and the salon owner tries to put you with someone else. Supposedly they are "just as good". When you inquire further it seems your chosen hairdresser no longer works there and no one has any idea what happened to them. This isn't the first time you've heard this. You silently start to wonder if maybe there's a serial killer on the loose.
With the exception of that last bit, this all sounds painfully familiar right? There is an alternative. One which fully understands and caters to the needs of whom this story resonates with most soundly. In fact, Tom's practice is intentionally designed to support those who have long struggled with what has been described here. For those who find the salon environment itself to be an anxious, uncomfortable or emotionally challenging environment to be in, you too will find the space here to be one which is very safe, sensitive and considerate of your needs.
Too good to be true? Rest assured, this isn't like any place you've been before. Tom is not a conventional salon hairdresser who simply works alone. In fact, he doesn't really refer to himself as a hairdresser at all. His highly acclaimed success is directly due to an avoidance of the flawed indoctrination and training that a hair salon provides their staff with. Indeed, Tom has spent over 30 years listening to and learning about the very frustrations which have probably landed you here reading this page right now. As a result, he has created and continues to refine what is seen as far superior and supportive experience.
