Clinical Practice Intervention
This is not foundational training, mentoring, or a technical apprenticeship.
This is a Private Practice Intervention for established hair practitioners who already work with curly, textured, or otherwise challenging hair types and require their existing logic, habits, and structural assumptions to be challenged under load.
I do not teach techniques or step-by-step methods. I do not work with students or those seeking foundational education. If you are looking to learn how to cut hair from the ground up, this is not the right container.
What this is
A one-on-one, in-studio deconstruction of your current methodology.
You conduct a full consultation and haircut on your own model while I observe and interrupt. I am not teaching you how to cut hair; I am forcing you to see exactly what you are doing and why. We will strip back ingrained indoctrination to address blind spots in your consultation, gaps in your structural reasoning, and your capacity to navigate the complex emotional landscape of the client.
The purpose is diagnostic. The intervention assumes you already have an established way of working that you are prepared to have dismantled and recalibrated.
Structure
Total time: up to four hours.
The session consists of a three-hour in-studio intervention, followed by an offsite break for reflection, and a thirty-minute return Q&A to address follow-up questions once the work has had time to land.
This structure is intentional. Insight often emerges after distance from the work, not during it.
Model Requirements
You must supply your own model. This person must not be a hair industry peer, co-worker, or student.
The model must be a willing, quiet, and patient participant. They must be prepared for direct questioning from me regarding their hair history, their emotional relationship with their hair, and their experience of your consultation.
It is your responsibility to ensure the model is comfortable with a clinical environment where technical and psychological gaps are identified and corrected in real time. This includes physical requirements, such as standing for extended periods during structural shaping.
What this requires
This intervention requires a practitioner who is open to being questioned, challenged, and corrected in real time.
It is not suitable for those who need reassurance, step-by-step guidance, or personal support. There is no hand-holding or softening of feedback.
The expectation is professional composure, reflective capacity, and the stamina to tolerate the discomfort of having your professional assumptions interrogated.
How I work in this context
The feedback is direct, specific, and unfiltered. I work via real-time interruption—stopping the process to question the logic of a move, the sequence of your execution, or your reading of the client’s emotional needs.
I will critique your consultation process and your structural execution. Once the work is complete, we will conduct a final analysis of the result. We will examine structural integrity, weight distribution, and temporal responsibility—ensuring the shape is robust enough to resolve correctly as it grows over the following months.
The intention is to shift focus from the immediate "finish" to the integrity of the process and the inevitability of human hair growth. Clarity and a radical shift in perspective are the goals; comfort is not.
I hold myself to the same standard. If I overstep, misread, or make an error, I will acknowledge it and correct course. This is a professional exchange grounded in mutual responsibility.
What this is not
This is not a learning pathway. It is not technique transfer. It is not certification, progression, or ongoing mentorship.
Some practitioners leave with refined diagnostic clarity. Others leave recognising that this level of cognitive load is incompatible with how they work. Both outcomes are valid.
Fees
AUD $5,000 per session. GST inclusive.
The fee reflects the intensity, scope, and cognitive load of the intervention. Payment is required in full prior to booking.
Conditions
One session per practitioner per calendar month. No refunds or rescheduling.
Written model consent is required. No recording, filming, attribution, or marketing claims are permitted.
I reserve the right to decline future sessions if the work or conduct is incompatible with the conditions of the studio.
Who this is for
Established practitioners who want their thinking examined under load and are willing to awaken a more rigorous, independent capacity for work.
If you are seeking reassurance, validation, or instruction, this is not appropriate.
