What to Expect

This is not your familiar salon. This space requires a different mindset.

It’s not just a haircut. It’s a recalibration—of shape, of self-perception, and often of long-held narratives, misinformation, and frustrations.

Many arrive thinking they just need a haircut.

But what actually needs adjusting is deeper: how they’ve been taught to think about their hair—what matters, what’s possible, and what’s true.

That’s why what follows is different from a traditional salon visit—and why preparation and process both matter.

Hair preparation is essential and required. Detailed instructions are provided ahead of your booking. Arriving with clean, dry, product-free hair ensures I can assess and work with your hair accurately and precisely.

The Consultation Process

Every booking starts with a seated, face-to-face consultation in a calm, socially distanced setting. My approach is more like a specialist practitioner than a traditional salon.

Rather than asking for photos or diving straight into preferences, I begin by asking about:

  • Hair relationship, texture and history
  • Specific hair challenges, situations, or needs
  • Prior salon experiences and what didn't resolve well
  • Individual lifestyle, aesthetic ideals, fuss levels, and product usage, if any
  • Any questions, concerns, or requirements

This conversation helps shape the entire direction of the appointment. If you’d like to share photos, we can absolutely look at them—once we’ve established the bigger picture.

This part of the process typically lasts 15 to 30 minutes. It’s relaxed, conversational, and designed to be collaborative. If you’re feeling uncertain or overwhelmed, that’s fine. I’m experienced in guiding the discussion and will make sure we land in the right place.

The goal is clarity, not pressure—and everything in this studio is designed to support that.
